Job Purpose

Lead the management of a specific Maintenance Contract or contracts with focus on the management and co-ordination of repair and engineering activities on behalf of the client. Management will include: coordination of repairs through Weir workshops, spare part supply, 3rd party (spares, service) supply and management of client engineering requirements. The role requires regular communication and reporting to the client.

 

Key Accountabilities Business Need / Purpose of Role:

Lead the management of a specific Maintenance Contract or contracts with focus on the management and co-ordination of repair and engineering activities on behalf of the client. Management will include: coordination of repairs through Weir workshops, spare part supply, 3rd party (spares, service) supply and management of client engineering requirements. The role requires regular communication and reporting to the client.

 

Objectives & Measurement

Including but not limited to:

·         Overall responsibility for administration and management of the contract(s) This includes:

o   Acting as Single Point of Contact and providing 24/7 support

o   Attending monthly meetings with clients and fostering closer working relationships

o   Providing operational support to client as required

o   Coordinating WIP for client on an ongoing basis

o   Conducting regular contract performance reviews with client.Producing monthly report on contract performance

o   Ensuring commercial compliance including annual rate revisions, appropriate mark-ups (if applicable), KPI monetization, etc.

o   Coordinating third party subcontract work

o   Coordinating offshore field service visits

o   Managing client stock, if applicable

·         Identify value-added support services for clients focused on reliability centred maintenance, including opportunities for reducing equipment total cost of ownership for client, critical spares review, upgrades/ re-rates, etc

·         Develop/ maintain Key Account Plan for each contract in line with Weir format. Develop and implement account growth strategy with hub management

·         Work seamlessly to promote interdepartmental teamwork within Weir across multiple sites. This includes:

o   Embedding the Master Scheduling process

o   Providing appropriate information on SQ-F069 to kick-start the repair cycle for workshop jobs and generating workpacks, if required

o   Ensuring clear communication of client requirements for each job internally and to third parties

o   Coordinating prioritising of jobs based on client requirements

o   Driving OTD performance and achieving business targets

o   Project management support, as required

o   Attending weekly accountability meetings and providing supporting information

o   Coordinating third party repairs with Procurement to ensure acceptable OTD performance

o   Communicating WIP job status to client with appropriate level of information and managing client expectations

·         Produce 3-monthly rolling financial forecast for the Aberdeen hub. Ensure accuracy and communicate changes proactively

·         Proactively promote Lean thinking principles within the business

·         Submission of weekly/quarterly/6 monthly/annual reports (financial and WIP status) to client

·         Weekly/monthly internal reporting of contract status and KPI monitoring.

·         Accuracy of financial forecasts

·         Timely close out of customer complaints and warranty claims if any arise.

·         Company’s HSEQ standards and targets achieved

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Experienced in the operation of maintenance contracts in the Oil & Gas or power sectors and producing plans/strategies based around clients’ business drivers and management systems.  Working knowledge of business finance with respect to profit/loss and managing same. Degree in mechanical engineering preferred.

 

Product Knowledge:

Experience of working with pumps, gearboxes, seals and pressure systems.

Good working knowledge of the repair and/or operation of rotating machinery.

 

Communications Skills:

Good communicator with the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers.  Good networking skills. Ability to work to deadlines under pressure.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

 

Computer Skills:

Excellent IT skills to cover Microsoft Office and specifically, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Desirable but not essential: Previous experience in Movex/SAP or equivalent.

 

Work Environment:

Depending on geographical location of candidate, would be based either from our offices in East Kilbride or Aberdeen Service Centre incorporating visits to Client offices in Aberdeen and some visits to external 3rd party suppliers.

May be required on occasion to work offshore for platform visits.

Will be required to travel for business and customer meetings.
